Veterinarian using Noctune
How it works

Record. Review. Done.

Three steps to get your evenings back.
1
Talk normally

Press record and run your visit. No scripts, no trigger words, no "AI, document this."

2
We transcribe

Veterinary-grade models turn the room into a clean, speaker-labeled transcript—through barking, beeping, and interruptions.

3
Review and send

Your finished SOAP note lands in the app and your inbox. Edit on the web, scan the email transcript on the go, paste into your PIMS, move on.

Recording

Your phone or browser is the microphone.

Record in the Noctune iPhone app or right from the web. It keeps up through barking dogs, stressed cats, and well-meaning owners talking over you—no extra hardware or setup.

Noctune Intelligence

More than a scribe.

Best-in-class medical AI is the foundation. The difference is the clinical judgement around it—what to flag, what to surface, what to remember from last visit. Directed by an actively-practicing UC Davis–trained veterinarian with over 10 years of experience, not a generalist team.
The best AI in medicine

The most accurate medical AI available, tuned for veterinary practice. Hears "metronidazole," not "mineral oil." Knows what’s typical for the species, the breed, the symptom—and what to flag when it isn’t. Same quality on every plan.

Works in a real exam room

Your phone or browser is the microphone. Captures medication names, drug doses, and procedure terms cleanly through barking dogs, ringing phones, clippers, and the dental scaler in the next room. No headsets, no extra gear, no IT setup.

Reads across the chart

Today’s note knows about every yesterday. Past prescriptions, mentioned concerns, what the client said last visit—Noctune carries it forward instead of starting fresh. Not tunnel vision; the patient’s whole story.

Catches what could get missed

Owl-sharp hearing—the offhand comment, the client’s aside, the symptom they mentioned but moved past. Plus differentials worth considering.

Noctune Sentinel — hostile-encounter protection

Picks up on frustration, confusion, tension, or aggression during a visit and marks the encounter for follow-up. Flagged visits are preserved in long-term storage so you have the recording if it escalates — a heads-up on your dashboard, before it shows up in a bad review or as an official complaint.

Every species

Dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, reptiles, exotics—the note matches the patient. Trained on the breadth of veterinary practice, not just companion animals.

Built by veterinarians

Clinically directed by a practicing veterinarian

Noctune’s Chief Medical Officer trained at UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine — consistently ranked among the top veterinary programs in the world — and still sees patients today. She shapes how the AI reasons about a case: what it listens for, what it flags, and what belongs in a discharge. That clinical judgment is the difference between a generic transcriber and a scribe that thinks like a vet.

Practice essentials

Plus everything that runs the practice.

The day-to-day stuff. Storage, sharing, exports, team access—designed to fit how a clinic actually works.
Noctune Nest — Private client communication

Send discharge instructions, follow-ups, and visit summaries through Noctune—not your personal email or text messaging. Encrypted, tied to the patient record, and searchable when you need it.

Recordings you can go back to

Every visit is recorded and kept. Replay the exact moment you prescribed something or refresh your memory before a follow-up. Pay-per-note audio is archived long-term; monthly plans keep it instantly available.

Your whole team, included

Vet techs, receptionists, and office staff get full access to notes and messages at no extra cost. Only DVMs count toward seats.

Copies cleanly

Paste directly into any PIMS. No reformatting, no broken bullets.

Add audio after the fact

Recorded a follow-up call or dictated a detail separately? Drop it on the encounter—Noctune folds it into the note.

Your data, you own it

Encrypted in transit and at rest. Export or delete anything in your account, anytime.

FAQ

Common questions

Two co-founders. Our Chief Medical Officer trained at UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and has been a practicing vet for over 10 years. She shapes the clinical side of the product—how the AI reasons about cases, what it listens for, what gets flagged, and what belongs in a discharge note. Defaults (templates, vocabulary, formats) are yours to override. Our technical co-founder spent over a decade at companies you know and love, like Google and Apple (he worked on the first iPad), before moving into drug discovery and biotechnology. Veterinary medicine is hard. So is building AI that fits how vets actually practice. That’s why we have a specialist for each.

Three things. First, we do more than transcribe—Noctune drafts your client messages, surfaces context from past visits, flags tense conversations, and stores your audio. Second, the same top-tier medical AI runs on every plan; quality isn’t gated behind higher tiers. Third, it’s clinically directed by a practicing vet, not a generalist team trying to enter healthcare.

Most full-time DVMs come out ahead on the Pro plan. It’s unlimited medical notes, plus features—instant audio replay for the life of your subscription and private in-app client messaging. The pay-as-you-go option only wins on pure math if you write fewer than ~150 notes a month and don’t need messaging or instant audio replay. Your dashboard will show which fits your real usage.

Every note is fully editable before you paste it anywhere. Review, revise, done. You’re the doctor—we don’t sign anything for you.

No—your phone’s microphone is enough to get clean notes, and a laptop, a tablet, or a desktop work too. Nothing to buy, nothing to install, nothing to charge overnight. You don’t need an external mic, but one can help: for large-animal work, noisy hospitals, or when you want the least editing possible, a dedicated clip-on mic sharpens the audio. Our microphone guide covers the one we use and recommend.

It lands in the app and as an email transcript in your inbox—usually in under a minute. A 30-minute visit averages about 49 seconds. Like any hospital, we get busy sometimes, so it can run a little longer. Do a quick stretch and you’ll have your note. Open the web app to edit and paste into your PIMS. The email’s handy when you’d rather not open the app, or want to quickly review or forward a note.

Monthly subscribers keep their audio instantly available for the full life of their subscription. Pay-per-note audio is archived to long-term storage after 31 days—still yours to recover anytime, with a small retrieval fee to pull it back out. Download or delete your audio whenever you want, on any plan.

Every recording and transcript is encrypted in transit and at rest. You can delete any audio, transcript, or note at any time, and it’s removed from your account. See our Privacy Policy for how your data is handled.

Pay-as-you-go has nothing to cancel—you only ever pay for what you use. Monthly plans cancel from your dashboard in two clicks. No phone call, no retention team, no dark pattern.

Owls hear better than almost any other animal—exactly what you want from an AI scribe. They also work the night shift, which is what Noctune does instead of you writing notes at 9 pm. The name is "noct" (nocturnal) + "tune" (audio): the work that gets done after dark, so that you can take a break.
